This Star Wars inspired drink is a real-dairy copycat version of the popular Galaxy’s Edge Blue Milk drink! So tasty and 100 percent kid friendly!

This recipe is in partnership with Milk – all opinions are my own.

My family and I are Disneyland junkies – we go all the time! I’ve always been a Disney fan and now that my kids are loving all things Disney too, we just can’t stay away.

We just visited Disneyland in California at the start of May and the hype around the new Star Wars themed land Galaxy’s Edge was at an all time high. Everyone has been talking about and speculating what might be found in the new land and now that’s it’s been opened to a few people (you have to have reservations to get into the land for the first month!) the internet is blowing up about the BLUE MILK in Galaxy’s Edge.

So what is Blue Milk? Inspired by an iconic scene in the Star Wars movies, this drink is a secret recipe but those who have tried it have described it as being a slushy, frothy, slightly fruity cup of deliciousness.

Our next trip to Disneyland isn’t for  couple of months and I’m dying to get a taste of that Blue Milk – and so are my kids! – but when I heard it was made with coconut milk I just knew I had to make a real dairy version right away.

So why didn’t I make it with coconut milk? Just like my sweet dreams Moon Milk recipe, I try to sneak in nutrient-rich dairy milk whenever possible. Most non-dairy options don’t offer the same nutrient package as real milk. Real dairy milk offers essential nutrients kids need including protein, calcium, vitamin D and potassium and since three year olds can be pretty picky eaters (mine are notoriously so!) I am always looking for fun ways to get more of these nutrients into their diet.

Plus I knew they’d enjoy it more with real dairy milk – like I said, they can be picky and I know they love milk!  I feel good giving my kids this REAL blue milk as a fun snack knowing the milk also provides nutrients they need and often don’t get enough of.

The blue milk found at Galaxy’s Edge supposedly has somewhat of a slush quality, so I started with whole milk and blended it with ice and a bit of vanilla extract.

They’re speculating that the drink has hints of fruit flavors like watermelon, lime, pineapple, and passion fruit so I used some blue fruit punch powder to achieve some of those fruity undertones.

My kids fell in love with the taste of this blue milk and had so much fun making it with me! If you’ve tried the blue milk at Galaxy’s Edge I’d love to know what you think of this one and see how it compares. When we go back to Disneyland in a few months I can’t wait to try it out for myself!
